About the role:

As a Senior Applied Scientist, you will lead AI/ML innovation at bsport. Your role goes beyond building models: you’ll explore and adapt cutting-edge research, design novel approaches, validate their effectiveness, and collaborate with engineering teams to bring them into production. You’ll be expected to set the scientific direction for critical AI projects and mentor the next generation of scientists and engineers.

Your mission:

• Drive research initiatives on LLMs, generative AI, embeddings, personalization, reinforcement learning, and other advanced methods to create step-changes in user experience and business outcomes.
• Develop prototypes and proofs-of-concept, systematically evaluate approaches, and publish internal knowledge that informs product & engineering decisions.
• Collaborate with product and engineering to transition promising research into production systems that meet business requirements.
• Lead methodological innovation in experimentation, evaluation, bias/fairness analysis, and interpretability.
• Mentor and guide other scientists and engineers, raising the bar for scientific rigor, innovation, and delivery.
• Represent bsport in the AI/ML community: conferences, open-source contributions, or industry collaborations (optional but encouraged).

About you:

• 4+ years in ML/AI research or applied science roles with proven impact (preferably in production-oriented environments).
• Deep expertise in modern ML (e.g., transformers, LLM fine-tuning, multimodal models, recommendation systems, reinforcement learning).
• Strong Python skills; hands-on experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX.
• Solid understanding of scientific methodology: hypothesis design, experimental evaluation, and statistical rigor.
• Track record of bringing advanced models from concept → experiment → validated solution.
• Excellent communication: ability to present complex ideas to both research peers and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proficiency in English

Nice-to-Have

• Publications in top AI/ML venues or patents.
• Experience in personalization, recommender systems, or wellness/fitness applications.
• Knowledge of AI safety, fairness, and ethics in production systems.
